Prior to her career as a journalist covering book publishing, Stephanie Oda worked as an editor in the industry for nearly 25 years. She consulted as an editorial director on special projects for such companies as Reader’s Digest, Hazelden Publishing and Millbrook Press. After a stint as editor of a Simba book-publishing newsletter, she co-founded Subtext in 1995. A graduate of the University of Connecticut with a Master’s degree from Manhattanville College, Oda has written more than a dozen children’s and adult books. She has also published numerous short stories and is an award-winning poet. |

Glenn Sanislo, co-founder of Subtext, was the editor of a Simba newsletter on educational publishing for six years. Prior to that he wrote newsletters on international business topics. He taught English and Expository Writing at New York University and the University of Connecticut. Sanislo has a BA in English with a minor in Education from Boston College. His Master’s degree, from New York University, is in English Literature and has completed the course work for a doctoral degree in that discipline. |
